Programming Updates for February



Here's what's on in February:

Please be advised that our telephone extensions have changed. Updated numbers are listed below. 

Harm Reduction Programming:

  • The Kit Group takes place on Tuesdays from 1-3PM in the Board Room. To sign up, please call 416.537.2455, ext 1271, or drop by the Harm Reduction Room on the first floor. 
  • KAPOW takes place Fridays from 10-11:30AM in the Board Room. For more information, please call Victoria at 416.537.2455, ext. 1361. 
  • This month, the  Harm Reduction Program has extended hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Tuesdays from 10AM-12PM and 3PM-8PM and Wednesdays from 10AM-11:30AM and 3PM-8PM

Population Health Programming:

  • The ID Clinic will take place on Wednesday Feb. 21st from 10AM-12PM
  • housing worker from West End Housing Help is available on Mondays from 1-4PM. For more information, or to book an appointment, please call 416.537.2455 or speak to the first floor receptionist.

Senior's Programming:

  • The Seniors Wellness Drop-In takes place on Tuesdays from 1-3PM starting January 16th.
  • Low Impact Aerobic Fitness Program 55+ takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11AM starting on Tuesday January 16th at the Church of Epiphany and St. Mark at 201 Cowan Ave.
  • Living Life to the Full is a fun and engaging 8-weeks course that provides people from all walks of life with effective tools to maximize their ability to manage life's challenges.  The program is based on the principles of cognitive behavior therapy.  The program starts March 7, 2018 and will be every Wednesday from 3:30PM-5PM, at the Parkdale Intercultural Association 1257 Queen Street West.
  • Pole Walking Program 55+ takes place on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM starting January 17th at the Church of Epiphany and St. Mark at 201 Cowan Ave.

Families and Newcomers Programming:

  • Child Minding Training takes place on Tuesdays from 2:45-4:45PM starting January 16th until April 24th at Parkdale Intercultural Association at 1365 Queen  St. West.

Health Services:

  • Shirley Hepditch, Case Worker, has drop-in hours on Monday and Friday from 10AM-12PM and Tuesday from 2-4PM. The drop-in will be cancelled on Feb. 2nd, 9th, 16th, 19th and 20th.
  • Anonymous HIV testing is offered for members of the general public. Please call 416.537.2455, ext.1222, to book an appointment. Please note that appointment availability is limited. 
  • The Infant Hearing Program takes place on Fridays from 9AM-4:30PM. For more information, please contact 416.338.8255.
  • The Naturopath Clinic takes places on Tuesdays from 12PM-6PM. To book an appointment, please request the sign-up sheet from the first floor receptionist. There is currently a waiting list of one year. For more information, please contact Sarah Bowler, ND (Supervisor) via email at parkdale@ccnm.edu.

Dental Services:

Diabetes Programming:

  • The Living Well Lunch Club will take place on Monday February 12th at 12:30PM.
  • The Insulin Support Group will be on Thursdays in Feb. from 1:30PM-3:30PM
  • The Spice Workshop will be Fridays starting Feb. 23rd to March 9th from12:30PM-2:30PM (with a field trip on Mar. 9th)

5Ps Programming:

  • Mom and Baby Circle takes place Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This program is for parents and caregivers of babies 0-6 months. 
  • Baby & Me takes place Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 27 Roncesvalles, Suite 503. This program is for parents and caregivers of babies 6-12 months. 
  • Prenatal Nutrition and Support takes place Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3:0PM
  • Language of Parenting Workshop will be on every other Wednesday from Feb. 14th – April 25th, 2018 at 6pm – 7:45pm, 27 Roncesvalles Ave, Suite 503. This program is for couples and co-parents with infants 0-12 months with a focus on parenthood, infant mental health, and stress in relationships, healthy attachment and more. Childcare is available for registered participants with children aged 0-6 years. Women's Connection Programming:

  • The Postpartum Mood Disorders Support Group takes place on Tuesdays from 2-4PM. This group is for mothers who are experiencing symptoms of PPMD who live in the west end of Toronto. Childcare is provided. For self-referral for intake and assessment regarding postpartum mood disorders, please call 416.537.8222.
  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Group for Spanish Speaking Women will run from March 1st to May May 3rd, every Thursday from 10AM-2PM at the main site, Parkdale Community Health Centre 1229 Queen Street West for 8weeks plus an introductory session.  To register please call Isabel at 416 537 8222  ext. 3305
