Programming Updates for May 2018

Here's what's on in May:

Please be advised that our telephone extensions have changed. Updated numbers are listed below. 

Harm Reduction Programming:

  • The Kit Group takes place on Tuesdays from 1-3PM in the Board Room. To sign up, please call 416.537.2455, ext. 1271, or drop by the Harm Reduction Room on the first floor. 
  • KAPOW takes place Fridays from 10-11:30AM in the Board Room. For more information, please call Victoria at 416.537.2455, ext. 1361. 
  • The Harm Reduction Program has extended hours: Monday – Thursday 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. – 8 P.M. *Wednesdays from 10 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. and 3 P.M. - 8 P.M.*
  • The Harm Reduction Program has a new Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention Outreach Program. For more information, please contact the outreach team at 647-825-GEAR (4237).


Population Health Programming:

  • The ID Clinic will take place on Wednesday May 16th from 10AM-12PM
  • housing worker from West End Housing Help is available on Mondays from 1-4PM. For more information, or to book an appointment, please call 416.537.2455 or speak to the first floor receptionist.


Senior's Programming:

  • The Seniors Wellness Drop-In takes place on Tuesdays from 1-3PM starting January 16th.
  • Low Impact Aerobic Fitness Program 55+ takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11AM starting on Tuesday January 16th at the Church of Epiphany and St. Mark at 201 Cowan Ave.
  • Living Life to the Full is a fun and engaging 8-weeks course that provides people from all walks of life with effective tools to maximize their ability to manage life's challenges.  The program is based on the principles of cognitive behavior therapy.  The program starts March 7, 2018 and will be every Wednesday from 3:30PM-5PM, at the Parkdale Intercultural Association 1257 Queen Street West.
  • Pole Walking Program 55+ takes place on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM starting January 17th at the Church of Epiphany and St. Mark at 201 Cowan Ave.
  • Seniors Salad Making is a fun program starting April 5th, 2018 and will be on the first Thursday of every month. The program is for seniors 65+ and it will be hosted at Parkdale Queen West CHC – Parkdale Site at 1229 Queen Street West, 1st floor, Large Group Room. Attendance is by registration only. Families and Newcomers Programming:

  • Guys Can Cook is a 7 weeks program for guys 13 – 18 years of age starting March 29th to May 7th from 3:30 pm. – 7:30 p.m. at Parkdale Community Health Centre 1229 Queen Street West.   • Let's Get Cooking to Prevent Diabetes is a free 6 week program starting MAY 4th from 1-4 p.m. for adults aged 25 – 64yrs. who do not have diabetes but wants to learn how food choices can prevent type 2 diabetes. Health Services:

  • Shirley Hepditch, Case Worker, has drop-in hours on Monday and Friday from 10AM-12PM and Tuesday from 2-4PM.
  • Anonymous HIV testing is offered for members of the general public. Please call 416.537.2455, ext.1222, to book an appointment. Please note that appointment availability is limited. 
  • The Infant Hearing Program takes place on Fridays from 9AM-4:30PM. For more information, please contact 416.338.8255.
  • The Naturopath Clinic takes places on Tuesdays from 12PM-6PM. To book an appointment, please request the sign-up sheet from the first floor receptionist. There is currently a waiting list of one year. For more information, please contact Sarah Bowler, ND (Supervisor) via email at


Dental Services:

  • The West End Oral Health Clinic takes place on Thursdays from 4:30-7:30PM and on Saturdays 11AM-3:30PM. The dates for this month are May 10th, 12th, 17th, 24th and 31st.


Diabetes Programming:

  • The Living Well Lunch Club will take place on Monday May 14 at 12:30PM.
  • The Insulin Support Group usually takes place on Thursdays from 1:30PM-3:30PM.  Please note that there are no dates in May 2018 for this program.
  • Plan Well, Budget Smart, Be Healthy is a 6 week workshop that starts May 4th and will be on every Friday at 1:30pm. The Program teaches participants meal planning, smart budgeting and creative cooking.

5Ps Programming:

  • Mom and Baby Circle takes place Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This program is for parents and caregivers of babies 0-6 months. 
  • Baby & Me takes place Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 27 Roncesvalles, Suite 503. This program is for parents and caregivers of babies 6-12 months. 
  • Prenatal Nutrition and Support takes place Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3:0PM
  • Fatherhood 101 is a drop-in program for dads-to-be and dads with children under 3yrs. Of age.       The May dates for this program are May 9th and 23rd from 6-7:45pm. For more information and or to book childcare, please call 416 537 8222 ext. 3505 or click on the link.
  • Feeding Tiny Souls: Infant Feeding Initiative is a program for parents with 0-6months old infants on Friday Mornings from 10am-11:30am.
  • Infant Clothing Exchange program happens on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Childcare is available for registered participants with children aged 0-6 years. If you would like to register in any 5Ps programs, please call 416.537.8222, ext. 3502 or 3505.


Women's Connection Programming:

  • The Postpartum Mood Disorders Support Group takes place on Tuesdays from 2-4PM. This group is for mothers who are experiencing symptoms of PPMD who live in the west end of Toronto. Childcare is provided. For self-referral for intake and assessment regarding postpartum mood disorders, please call 416.537.8222.


Closure Notice

  • Saturday May 19th and Monday May 21st, Closed for Victoria Day
