Parkdale CHC has been providing dedicated counselling and support services to women in Parkdale for many years through our Women’s Connection Program.
On July 1, 2012, we expanded our programs and services for women by assuming the responsibility and accountability for the programs and services previously provided at the Women’s Health Centre at St. Joseph's Hospital.
The Women’s Health Centre was well known for its client-centered approach and its responsiveness to the needs of a multi-stressed, culturally and socioeconomically diverse population.
Parkdale CHC is honoured to continue this legacy at our expanded Women’s Connection Program, and will continue to deliver excellent care for women, addressing the social determinants of health, and using therapeutic approaches that are grounded in feminist, anti-oppression principles and that are trauma-informed and resiliency focused.
The Women's Connection Program offers the following:
- Individual and group counselling and education
- Postpartum Mood Disorders Support Group
- Community Development
- Parkdale Parents' Primary Prevention Project (5Ps)
