This report, published in December 2010, examines the opportunities for developing a community food strategy for the downtown Toronto neighbourhood of Parkdale. In particular, it focuses on the food needs of vulnerable populations in Parkdale who are over-represented in Parkdale compared to other Toronto neighbourhoods, including low-income people, recent immigrants, and people facing homelessness, mental health or addiction issues.
This reference guide contains an overview of community agencies and food banks that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day of the week. Agencies addresses, telephone numbers and a map are also provided.
This report contains an evaluation of the Harm Reduction Program at Parkdale CHC.
This report presents a summary of responses and suggestions as made at the My Time, My Space, My Voice Seniors’ Conference. The conference was executed to give seniors an opportunity to come together to discuss the barriers they face. These barriers can come in different forms and are often linked to ageist behaviours towards seniors. By giving seniors the space to come together and discuss their experiences, community agencies and various levels of government can learn from these seniors to ensure that we are meeting their specific needs.
